Liverpool's Star Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Team Unity
The player stated that the team's response was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”
