Dean Henderson Not a save required during the opening 45 until called into action by Arbër Hoxha’s bent shot. One well-timed sliding tackle against an Albanian attacker demonstrated his reading of the game. 6/10

The debutant Tested by the opposition's main danger through their forward. Played in a central role early on later drifted to the flank after Saka was introduced. 7

John Stones Moved up the pitch with the ball at his feet, a familiar role in the past. Sometimes seemed hesitant in possession with the tactic discontinued at half-time. 6

Dan Burn A constant threat at set pieces, as always, could serve as another option for his teammate at the back as opposed to paired with him. A loose ball in the second half nearly resulted in the first goal for the visitors. 6/10

The young full-back One more assured performance from the 20-year-old after his debut versus another side. Saka failed to make the most of an exquisite flick behind the Albania defence. His position is firmly his already. 7

The newcomer A debut start in an England shirt. Slightly careless when playing out though his whipped corners posed a danger. An effective tempo-setter for the boss to call upon against sides that sit back. Shown a yellow after a reckless foul. 6/10

Declan Rice Crosses from corners and free kicks caused problems. Was given license to move on the left but was offside when the ball arrived in front of goal. Given a deserved substitution after an hour. Six

The star midfielder Operated in a forward spot on the right and also put in dirty work. Demonstrated moments of class and scuffed a shot over. Substituted towards the end by a teammate, his competition, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Had the team's top opening in the opening period, his effort smartly stopped from the Albanian keeper. With Quansah staying deep, he was forced to offer an outlet down the right side yet his deliveries from the touchline were hit and miss. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

The captain The match-winner scoring 77th and 78th goals for his country. The first a typical close-range tap-in and his next a superb header having drifted away from his marker. At 32, he’s only getting better and England are strong contenders in future competitions when he's in the team. 8/10

The attacker Had difficulty to influence play out wide. Had a good opening when set up by Bellingham but the keeper denied him. His replacement made much more of an impact when substituted. 5
